‘Why Not Us?’ is a multidisciplinary piece of the theatre that examines gender inequality from the perspective of both men and women. Set in London, the play questions how we view relationships, work, the media and the music industry.
Emily and Liam are finishing their final year at university. As close friends with a clear idea of what they want from their relationships and careers, both try to work out where they fit in the world, often through comic conversations fuelled by debate.
However, as they follow their own paths in journalism and advertising, both are faced with difficult challenges that cause them to question their careers and fracture their relationship. As they overcome their insecurities they also begin to accept and understand each other.
