Club 60
The Club 60 project at the All Souls Clubhouse exists to reach out to the more vulnerable and isolated elderly residents in Westminster. At midday, five days a week, the Centre provides a freshly cooked meal for a small charge. They also run a number of activities on a regular or semi-regular basis, including Keep Fit, a painting class and film afternoons. They also get out and about: for shopping, afternoon outings and day trips. Volunteers are needed to help serve lunch, befriend guests and particpate in activities and outings. There would also love to hear from you if you would like to run an activity or workshop e.g. arts & crafts, money advice, music etc. Many elderly residents are unable to come to the Clubhouse so Club 60 runs a visiting scheme, which aims to link individuals with one of our volunteer visitors to provide regular friendship, practical and spiritual support. Club 60 would love to hear from you if you have a couple of hours once a week (day or evening) or at the weekend to visit an elderly member of the community. To volunteer, contact Patricia Townsend or Karen Honeysett on 0207 255 9755, or by email club60@clubhousew1.org.
The Christian Union AlmshousesThe Christian Union Almshouses house elderly members of our local community, some of whom are members of St Mary's. They are looking for volunteers to do some regular gardening for them as they are unable to do it themselves. Please contact Mrs Heather Greves on 01344 456712 if you are interested in volunteering. |
